Bangladesh 309-6 beat New Zealand 307-5 by four wickets

Bangladesh sealed a 3-0 series win against New Zealand in the final ODI encounter in Fatullah on Sunday, with big innings from Shamsur Rahman and Naeem Islam seeing the hosts to their second ever run-chase of more than 300, per Espn.

New Zealand were made to pay for some loose bowling, conceding 23 extras as Bangladesh chased down what had been an impressive score, with Ross Taylor nailing a fine century to put New Zealand in pole position.

Taylor's innings was impressive from the beginning, but New Zealand cut loose late in their innings to add 93 runs in the final 10 overs and see their premier batsman home to his century.

The innings was Taylor's second ODI ton of the year and it was he who took the reins in the final overs, utilising the slog sweep to full effect as he entered full-on Twenty20 mode.

Colin Munro had earlier taken the lead on upping the scoring rate, adding 85 runs at over a run per ball, with the visitors posting what was their best score of the series by some distance.

Bangladesh will be concerned at the ease with which they were dispatched late in the innings, but they were let off the hook by New Zealand's slack bowling.

The response was brisk, with Shamsur scoring at a fair rate while pinch-hitter Ziaur Rahman looked to score in early boundaries.

In the absence of experienced opener Tamim Iqbal, a quick-fire partnership of 61 at the top of the innings was exactly what the hosts needed, before Shamsur continued to carry the attack to New Zealand with the support of Mominul Haque.

Per Espn, the Bangladeshi batsmen also took full advantage of new fielding restrictions outside of powerplay overs, chipping the ball over the infield into the empty spaces in the deep.

Naeem Islam added a solid 64 in the middle order, calmly keeping the runs ticking over en route to a fifth ODI 50 as Bangladesh began to see victory within reach.

Nasir Hossain's quick-fire 44 late in the innings was the boost needed, and with the help of solid lower order contributions, he helped Bangladesh to a second consecutive home series whitewash over New Zealand.

The series success is another boost to Bangladeshi cricket, after promising ODI results over the past 12 months, including a home series victory over West Indies and an away 1-1 draw in Sri Lanka, per .
