• Hosts easily save follow-on in Chittagong
• Finish on 380-7 in reply to Kiwis' 469

A maiden Test century from Mominul Haque helped Bangladesh easily avoid the follow-on in response to New Zealand's daunting first-innings total of 469 in the opening match of the series in Chittagong.

Resuming on 103 for two,the 22-year-old left-hander passed his hundred from 98 balls. And despite the loss of Marshall Ayub and Shakib Al Hasan, his knock ensured the home side dominated day three.

Having single-handedly staged Bangladesh's recovery from eight for two on Thursdaywith an unbeaten 77, Mominul quickly picked up where he left off with a series of boundaries. It was a flawless show of batting and Ayub could only look on in wonder as his partner took centre stage.

Mominul had made 181, with 27 fours, when he was trapped lbw by Corey Anderson. It left Bangladesh on 301 for five, and they finished the day on 380 for seven at stumps.
